The Washington Poodle Club was created to promote interest in the poodle and encourage its members to breed poodles that conform to the breed standard published by the Poodle Club of America.  All club members are educated on the qualities the Poodle Club of America believes poodles must possess.  The Washington Poodle Club encourages poodle breeders and owners to exhibit their poodles in events approved by the American Kennel Club, which include breed conformation, obedience, rally, agility, working, therapy, and more.

The Washington Poodle Club requires all members to have the highest spirit of cooperation and to be committed to the principle of good sportsmanship.

Along with enjoying the company of other poodle breeders and enthusiasts, the primary goal of the Washington Poodle Club is to hold two poodle specialty shows each year, one in April, another in October.  The purpose of these shows is to award prizes and titles to the winning poodles in conformation, obedience, and rally.  Additionally, the club shares information about new developments with the Poodle Club of America and with the American Kennel Club regarding pure-bred poodles and dog shows.  The Washington Poodle Club normally meets five times a year, January, March, May, September, and November.  Also each year the club gathers for a Holiday Awards Dinner and Auction at the beginning of December.

The Washington Poodle Club welcomes interested poodle owners to learn more about the club.  Join us at our next club meeting.

To become a member of the Washington Poodle Club, an applicant must have attended two general meetings of the club and must obtain two letters of recommendation on their behalf from current members.
